New Father's/Mother's Day Song Coming March 8: "One Tiny Seed"

Whenever anyone asks me what my favorite song I've ever written is... I always give the same answer: whatever project I'm currently working on. Isn't that how it should be? If I'm not completely thrilled about something, why keep doing this?

Right now, that project is "One Tiny Seed," a song written specifically for Father's Day but could be used for Mother's Day, Grandparent's Day–or really any day. If you have ever heard, "Teach Me to Walk in the Light," it has a similar purpose.

I wrote "One Tiny Seed" with Lauren Gruwell. She's a super talented singer/songwriter and happens to be the sister I never knew I needed. We've known each other since middle school, danced together in junior high, and were even in our town's royalty our senior year/following year (spoiler alert: she was our queen, and I was her attendant.) She's incredible and one of the most talented and kind humans I know. This is her first children's song, and it was so fun working with her on it. We both LOVE how the song turned out!

“One Tiny Seed” is a song about helping each other grow faith in Jesus Christ. As caring adults share the gospel with the children and youth in their stewardship, tiny seeds of faith are planted in their hearts. As those seeds are nurtured, they grow into beautiful trees and bear fruits of faith. In turn, children can share the fruits of their faith with those around them, spreading and planting seeds of faith.

We recorded the song in January, filmed the video a couple of weeks ago in February, and it's finally ready to share this weekend. The video turned out so cute, and the children did so well. It was a LONG shoot, but they were troopers and kept really positive attitudes. We're so proud of them! We hope you love it!!

The song releases Saturday, March 8th at 10:00 am Mountain Time on my YouTube channel.

Sheet music is already available on my website HERE

Here is the thumbnail for the video. It features our final soloist and her dad, who happens to be Lauren's brother.
